Constitution

Dated 23 May 2025, this Constitution establishes the Royal House of Bradley as a closed Royal Order and an Absolute Hereditary Sovereignty.

The House, composed of both longstanding and newly joined families, traces its origins to the First Noble Knights who defended Christianity in Europe. Throughout history, the House has maintained its traditions and has never been conquered by a foreign power.

The Constitution, reaffirmed by H.R.H. Prince Carl Raymond Bradley on 6 July 2025, extends to all holdings, assets, and entities of the House, which is recognised as a

Non-Territorial Sovereign under international law ("Terra nullius").

The seat of this Non-Territorial Sovereign is located in North Carolina, U.S.A., at the residence of H.R.H., who also presides over all Royal, Military, Chivalrous, and Religious Orders of the House. The doctrine of the divine right of kings underpins the House’s legitimacy, asserting that the sovereign is preordained by God to rule.

This belief holds that the people have entrusted the selection of their sovereign’s soul to God, making the monarch’s authority a metaphysical act of humility and submission.

The Constitution claims absolute immunity for the Royal Family, including the Sovereign, Consort, Royal Children and their families, siblings and their families, and grandchildren. The Sovereign also holds the exclusive right to pardon and serves as the final authority on appeals.

Sovereign immunity, or crown immunity, means the sovereign cannot be prosecuted or sued in their own courts, and state immunity extends this protection in foreign courts. In an Absolute Hereditary Monarchy, the sovereign is the source of judicial authority, and courts cannot compel the sovereign, as they exist to protect the subjects. This principle is captured by the maxim "rex non potest peccare" — the sovereign can do no wrong.

There are three main forms of sovereign immunity:

1. Immunity from suit: The sovereign or head of state cannot be made a defendant in court proceedings or similar forums.

2. Immunity from enforcement: Even if a judgment is made against the sovereign, it may not be enforceable.

3. Absolute immunity: Royal and appointed officials are fully protected from prosecution and lawsuits for actions within their official duties, to prevent interference with their responsibilities.

Additionally, the Prince has decreed that no Papal Bull may be published within the dominions without his consent. The House is funded through voluntary donations, acquisitions for coats of arms, and, in rare cases, donations for granted titles.

All members of the Royal Family are considered answerable only to God, not to human laws. The family includes the Monarch and Consort, all children and grandchildren, siblings and their spouses and children.

Rights of children from any marriage, whether morganatic or not, are recognised if by blood; adoption is also considered by blood, but stepchildren are not included.

The Royal House is represented by His Royal Highness, and its patrimony consists of various forms of donations and contributions.

The Supreme Prelate of all Royal Orders is recognised as God in the Christian tradition. The official text of this Constitution is in English, and all translations must reference the English version.
