Born on 29 May 1964 in Fredericksburg, Virginia, His Royal Highness descends from the High Kings of Ireland, through Suibhne Meann, Ard‑Rí and Rí of Aileach, and the ancient Cenél Bhrolcháin of Donegal. Through his mother, Princess Consort Christine Rosemary Förnbacher, he inherits the noble blood of the Ancient House of Fornbach in Germany, and was the Heir to her House of Fornbacher.
Recognised formally on 29 June 2024, he stands as Defender of Faith and Heritage, steward of a lineage that bridges Irish kingship and German princely tradition.

Raised in Altoona, Pennsylvania in the Roman Catholic faith, the Prince is the eldest of six children, with four surviving sisters of the Royal House.
In 1986, he wed Princess Consort Elke Petra Scherlein, Dame of the ancient Uradel nobility of Erlangen, Bavaria. Their union is blessed with three children: 1st born and heir, Princess Christina Elisabeth‑Ann, Prince Patrick Ryan, and Prince Shawn Michael‑Christopher.
