✠ THE CLAN CHARTER OF THE UÍ BHROLCHÁIN ✠
As Founded and Constituted under the Hand and Seal of H.I.R.H. Carl Raymond Bradley Sovereign Prince of the Imperial & Royal House of Bradley–Ua Bhrolcháin Ceann Fine Uí Bhrolcháin
✠ PREAMBLE
By the ancient sovereignty of the Cenél nEógain, by the princely and ecclesiastical lineage of the Ua Bhrolcháin kindred, and by the federated heritage preserved within the Imperial & Royal House of Bradley–Ua Bhrolcháin, We, H.I.R.H. Carl Raymond Bradley, Sovereign Prince and Head of the Name and Arms, do hereby establish and ordain this Clan Charter of the Uí Bhrolcháin.
This Charter is founded upon:
-
the immemorial law of blood (jus sanguinis),
-
Gaelic sovereign custom,
-
the ceremonial sovereignty of non‑reigning dynastic houses,
-
and the rights affirmed in the Constitution of the Imperial & Royal House,
and stands as the governing instrument of the restored Uí Bhrolcháin Clan.
✠ ARTICLE I — NAME, IDENTITY, AND PURPOSE
Section 1. Name
The organisation hereby constituted shall be known as: The Uí Bhrolcháin Clan Association (Cumann Chlainne Uí Bhrolcháin)
Section 2. Identity
The Clan Association is the cultural, genealogical, and ceremonial body of the historic Uí Bhrolcháin lineage, descended from the Cenél nEógain and rooted in the ancient Gaelic order.
Section 3. Purpose
The purposes of the Clan Association are:

to preserve and promote the heritage of the Uí Bhrolcháin;
-
to unite descendants worldwide;
-
to maintain genealogical and heraldic records;
-
to uphold Gaelic customs, rites, and traditions;
-
to support charitable and cultural initiatives;
-
to honour the legacy of the Clan’s ecclesiastical and princely ancestors.
✠ ARTICLE II — AUTHORITY OF FOUNDATION
Section 1. Sovereign Ceremonial Authority
The Clan Association is founded under the sovereign ceremonial authority vested in the Sovereign Prince by:

the Fons Honorum,
-
the Ius Majestatis,
-
the Ius Nominis et Arma,
-
the Ius Ordinis,
as codified in the Constitution of the Imperial & Royal House of Bradley–Ua Bhrolcháin.
Section 2. Recognition of the Ceann Fine
The Sovereign Prince is hereby affirmed as:

Head of the Name and Chief of the Clan
This dignity is hereditary within the Imperial & Royal House unless altered by the Derbfine in accordance with Gaelic custom.
✠ ARTICLE III — GOVERNANCE OF THE CLAN
Section 1. The Ceann Fine
The Ceann Fine shall:
-
serve as ceremonial and genealogical head of the Clan;
-
oversee the preservation of heritage and tradition;
-
appoint officers and representatives;
-
maintain the Clan Register and genealogical archive;
-
preside over ceremonies, gatherings, and proclamations.
Section 2. The Derbfine
The Derbfine shall be the council of senior kin, consisting of:
-
members of the Sovereign House,
-
senior representatives of cadet branches,
-
elders recognised for service or lineage.
The Derbfine shall advise the Ceann Fine and confirm succession when required.
Section 3. Officers of the Clan
The Ceann Fine may appoint:

Ard‑Sheanchaí — Chief Historian
-
Ard‑Ghinealaí — Chief Genealogist
-
Ard‑Gharda — Chief Guardian of Rites
-
Herald of the Clan
-
Chamberlain of the Clan
-
Regional Captains for diaspora communities
Offices may be hereditary or appointed at the discretion of the Ceann Fine.
✠ ARTICLE IV — MEMBERSHIP
Section 1. Eligibility
Membership is open to:
-
all persons bearing the surnames Ua Bhrolcháin, O’Brolchain, O’Brollaghan, Bradley (Gaelic line), or documented variants;
-
descendants of the Clan through maternal or paternal lines;
-
individuals who honour the Clan and are accepted by the Derbfine.
Section 2. Categories of Membership
-
Clann Fola — Bloodline Members
-
Clann Dílse — Affiliated Members by marriage or adoption
-
Clann Onóra — Honorary Members recognised for service
-
Clann Óg — Youth Members
Section 3. Rights of Members
Members may:
-
participate in Clan gatherings;
-
register genealogical information;
-
bear Clan symbols as permitted;
-
hold office if appointed;
-
contribute to cultural and charitable initiatives.
✠ ARTICLE V — HERALDRY AND SYMBOLS
Section 1. Heraldic Authority
The heraldic authority of the Clan is vested in the Ceann Fine, who may:

grant arms;
-
confirm arms;
-
recognise cadet branches;
-
regulate badges, tartans, and symbols.
Section 2. Clan Arms
The Clan shall maintain:
-
the Arms of the Uí Bhrolcháin;
-
the Arms of the Ceann Fine;
-
the Arms of Cadet Branches;
as recorded in the Heraldic Rolls of the Imperial & Royal House.
✠ ARTICLE VI — CEREMONIAL AND CULTURAL LIFE
The Clan shall preserve:
-
Gaelic rites and customs;
-
traditional forms of address;
-
ceremonies of inauguration and remembrance;
-
festivals, gatherings, and cultural events;
-
the sacred memory of the Clan’s ecclesiastical ancestors.
The Ceann Fine may establish new rites consistent with tradition.
✠ ARTICLE VII — RELATIONSHIP TO THE IMPERIAL & ROYAL HOUSE
The Uí Bhrolcháin Clan Association is hereby recognised as: the official cultural and genealogical arm of the Imperial & Royal House of Bradley–Ua Bhrolcháin.
It remains autonomous in cultural matters but united in lineage and heritage.
✠ ARTICLE VIII — AMENDMENT
This Charter may be amended only by:
-
the Ceann Fine, or
-
the Derbfine with the assent of the Ceann Fine.
✠ ARTICLE IX — RATIFICATION
By this Charter, the Uí Bhrolcháin Clan Association is:

founded,
-
constituted,
-
recognised,
-
and established
as the rightful cultural and genealogical body of the Uí Bhrolcháin lineage.

Given under Our Hand and Seal, in honour of our ancestors and in fidelity to the Ua Bhrolcháin name.
